Further to the Mayoral direction No. MDI04-2025 provided on November 12, 2025, staff have prepared recommendations for items to be pre-approved prior to the adoption of the 2026 budget.

Accordingly, I, Jim Ginn, Mayor of Central Huron, in accordance with Ontario Regulation 530/22, under the Municipal Act, 2001, present the following budget items prior to the adoption of the 2026 budget:

Ferma Energy Heron Energy Storage Project

Clinton ON, October 21, 2025 - At the Regular Council Meeting held on October 20, 2025, it was noted that Ferma Energy, proponents of the Heron Energy Storage Project, have advised Council of their intent to focus on other projects at this time.

The Council of the Municipality of Central Huron has yet to be formally involved in the decision-making process for this project, as no applications have been submitted.
