Nominations for Outstanding Youth Award Open

The Municipality of Central Huron has opened nominations for the 2024 Outstanding Youth Award. 

The Award was established by Central Huron Council in late 2023 and highlights a Central Huron youth aged 13-16, who resides in Central Huron and who best exemplifies community contributions, personal courage, and leadership. 

The Award will be presented by the Mayor and Council at a September 2024 meeting and the recipient(s) will receive a certificate of merit and $200.00.

Municipal Equipment Operator Course

In collaboration with Fanshawe Corporate Training Solutions, AORS is pleased to offer the Municipal Equipment Operator Course. This course is a 10-week micro-certification course through Fanshawe College and AORS, where students will learn the basics of municipal public works operations and receive hands-on training on equipment relating to municipal public works operations including a tractor loader backhoe, motor grader, sidewalk plow, roadside mower and forklift.
