MPAC - How to Read your Property Assessment Notice

Property assessments for the 2022 and 2023 property tax years will continue to be based on January 1, 2016 current values. We continue to update property information during non-Assessment Update years. Notices are mailed to property owners throughout the year to inform them of changes made to their property information.

This year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign is, “Fire won’t wait. Plan your escape”, works to educate everyone about simple but important actions they can take to keep themselves and those around them safe from home fires. 

Today’s homes burn faster than ever. You may have as little as two minutes or less to safely escape a home fire from the time the smoke alarm sounds. Your ability to get out of a home during a fire depends on early warning from smoke alarms and advance planning.

Leaf/Brush Pickup - October 6, 2022 - November 10, 2022

Leaf pickup has been extended to both Monday's and Thursday's, while the weather is good. Leaves can ONLY be picked up in bags and cannot be left loose on the roadways. Central Huron does not have the proper equipment to suck up the leaves, so we ask that residents stop into Town Hall to pick up their 2 bundles of bags to put their leaves in. 2 bundles per household.

A message from Fire Chief Renner, Municipality of Central Huron

Please be advised that the Central Huron Fire Department Dispatch Centre will be transferred to the Owen Sound Emergency Communication Centre effective October 17, 2022.

If your property or business is currently monitored by an alarm company, please have them contact the Central Huron Fire Department at 519-482-3043 or the Municipal Office at 519-482-3997 to be provided with an Emergency Contact number.
