Curbside garbage and recycling collection is provided by Bluewater Recycling Association. Scheduling for all garbage and recycling pickups is included in the BRA collection calendar. You can also report missed collections or request a new bin.

Leaf Collection

Central Huron collects leaf and yard waste from the last week in April to the first week in May and from October 5 to November 13th, weather permitting. Leaves must be in brown paper bags which are available at the Municipal Office. For those who wish to take their own leaves and compost, the drop off site is at 40131 Hydro Line Road - just east of the Cemetery. The hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm, 7 days a week. Brush must be tied in bundles no longer than 4 feet, and cannot weigh more than 50 pounds. Only leaves, brush, grass clippings, and kitchen compost are acceptable at this facility. This facility does not accept plastics, metal, lumber, cement, tires, or other garbage.

Mid Huron Recycling Centre

Central Huron also provides the Mid-Huron Recycling Centre for the disposal of hazardous waste and designated recyclable materials. These designated recyclable materials include white goods, shingles, clean wood products, steel, e-waste, and tires. • Curbside Collection is not accepted.
• Mixed Loads of waste materials must be sorted manually and unleaded into designated areas/bins.
• Separate loads i.e. shingles or construction material, must be unloaded into designated bunkers.
