Huron Street Construction Project

Please note that Huron Street (Hwy 8) from Albert Street (Hwy 4) to Shipley Street will be closed from July 6, 2026 to November 16, 2026. 

No through emergency access; local traffic only. No large trucks on in-town detours. 

Pedestrian access is permitted. There will be accommodation via alternate access for affected businesses; signage will be posted to direct patrons.

Detours

Truck Detour: Sharpes Creek Line at Highway 8, to Londesboro Road, to Baseline, to Albert Street, to Huron Street

Detours for Local Traffic: North Street North at Huron Street, to Rattenbury Street West, to Albert Street, to north of Huron Street OR North Street South south of Huron Street, to Joseph Street, to Cutter Street, to William Street South, to Ontario Street

Information for Affected Residents
Garbage and Recycling 

Residents are encouraged to label their bins with their property address and put their garbage and recycling bins out as normal. If needed, Lavis Contracting will move the bins to a specified area for Bluewater Recycling Association to pick up and then return the bins to your property.

If there are changes to this process, notice will be given.

Accessing Residences

Residents will have continuous access and any disruption to access will be communicated to the resident by the contractor (Lavis Contracting) in advance.
