2026 Water & Sewer Rates

At the Regular Council Meeting on July 6, 2026, Central Huron Council adopted By-Law 38-2026 to impose fees or charges for municipal water and sewer services. 

In this By-Law, effective August 1, 2026, the rate has increased to the water (6%) and sewer (10%) fees. This increase aligns with the Municipality of Central Huron’s new Water and Sewer Financial Plan: a required procedure for submission requirements for municipal drinking water license applications. The Financial Plan’s forecasting made rate increases in 2026 a necessity in order to maintain operations and rebuild the reserves to a sustainable level. Even with the increases, the Municipality’s water and sewer fees or charges remain one of the lowest in the area.
