The Outstanding Youth Award annually recognizes a Central Huron youth aged 13-16, who resides in Central Huron and who best exemplifies community contributions, personal courage, and leadership. The award is presented by the Mayor and Council during a meeting in September each year.

The Award can recognize youth achievements that:

• Display positive contributions and who have provided outstanding service to the community;
• Contributions to neighbourhood community through a single act of kindness or multiple good deeds benefiting many beings; the unsung hero who makes their neighbourhood a better place to live;
• Recognition of the contributions of a youth for their overall outstanding community service, dedication, and commitment to improving the quality of life for the citizens of Central Huron.

The award will be presented by the Mayor and Council at a Council meeting and the recipient will receive a certificate of merit and $200.00.
